Concocting the perfect chili is a difficult feat. For decades, home chefs have been striving to fine-tune their recipes: a dash of salt, a pinch of basil, enough chili powder to make their dinner guests breathe fire. And at the first annual Chili Cook-Off at Pinecrest Gardens, amateurs and pros alike will go head-to-head with their unique blends for the title of “Best Chili in Town.”
Attendees can take a turn at line dancing, listen to live music, score balloon animals, ride a mechanical bull, and generally get a lil’ bit country in the name of chili. Dudes will have access to “the Man Cave,” a bus tricked out with sports broadcasts, videogames, leather seats, and all the comforts of a proper testosterone-inspired hovel. Plus, if you’re craving the banner attraction, there’ll be restaurant vendors dishing up chili, and you can buy beer to wash it all down.
