The 1921 club (1921 S. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale) decor might remind some of an opium den, but we’re just gonna call the spot a den of social stimulants — a place where so much is happening that blinking is a highly risky behavior.

Come Friday, April 30, BLORR — which stands for the self-explanatory Bastard Lovechild of Rock ‘n’ Roll (as illustrated on the subtle T-shirt design to the right) — and local rockers who probably don’t agree with Karl Marx’s pejorative “religion is the opium of the people” comment, Alexander, will both rock the 1921 stage for the Heatwave! Doors are at 9 p.m., and cover is a steal at $5.

Crossfade pal DJ Mig Lauderdale — worthy of more fawning adjectives than this space can possibly allow — will cap the night with a set guaranteed to raise everyone’s body temperature even further.
