Huggy Lowdown‘s piercing Steve Urkel-esque voice comes careening through car radio systems each morning during the top-rated Tom Joyner Morning Show. The comedian with a name straight out of the ’70s gives listeners celeb juice, social commentary, and straight-up tomfoolery in a biting, no-holds-barred style that listeners can’t seem to get enough of. As soon as he transitioned from local Washington, D.C. funnyman to a nationally recognized persona, his segment shot to number one. You can hear him each morning on Hot 105 from 6 to 10 a.m., or head to the Improv today until Saturday, April 11, to see him live and in person. He’ll call people “Bamas” and ask the crowd: “What’s the deal, pickle?” You’ll roll in the aisles and meet the two-drink minimum.
Thu., April 9, 8:30 & 10:45 p.m., 2009
