You probably know by now that Back to the Future II predicted that there would be a baseball team using the name “Miami” as their home signifier, but did another movie predict the Miami Marlin’s new uniforms?
The 1998 box office bomb BASEketball, staring South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, seems to have come pretty close.
The nugget was dug up on the Petzrawz’s Tumblr:
Save for the teal color scheme, the bright, multicolored flourishes and the very graphic, black bold font do seem pretty similar to what the Marlins ended up with:

The Miami BASEketball team in the film actually goes by the name of the “Dealers” and Wikipedia notes, “the players appear to be Cuban drug dealers,” but does point out one major uniform difference from the Marlins’ new digs: “the chainsaw-wielding man on the back of their jersey reminiscent of Scarface.”
