signing massive indie rock acts like Battles, Bloc Party and The Von Bondies.
But just like all other scenesters in the late 2000s, Dim Mak and Steve Aoki
traded their guitars in for decks, and now the label is one of the hottest
homes for funky DJs in the land.
Armed with some of the most exciting names in EDM, Dim Mak is
hitting WMC with two official label showcases – an after-hours rager at Mansion
and a pool party at the Dream Hotel.
The party at Mansion is set to be a little harder, with
massive acts like Datsik and Angger Dimas bringing lots of heavy sounds to the
table. The pool party seems to be more electro-centered, featuring Sidney
Samson, R3HAB and Lazy Rich.
Both parties share acts like Joachim Garraud, Felix Cartal,
Dirtyphonics and Peace Treaty. The
boss-man himself is only scheduled to play a set at Mansion, although the
special guest headliner for the pool party seems to suggest he may make an
appearance at both.
Because, like, it’s his party and he’ll crash if he wants
to.
