After a week and a half of revelry, Halloween is officially over. We’re plagued with post-party depression, a wicked sugar crash, and one hell of a headache. Why aren’t hangover holidays a thing? WHY?

But at least it’s Friday. Which means there are just a few more hours until sweet freedom is yours once again. And if you’re adequately recovered, there are plenty of ways to eat and drink your way around town this weekend. Check ’em out after the jump.

Dia de los Muertos Celebration at Talavera Cocina

Didn’t get enough ghoulishness on Halloween? Extend the undead celebrations a few more days with traditional Mexican Day of the Dead fanfare. From Friday to Sunday, Talavera will be serving up the holiday’s Pan de Muerto paired with a cup of hot “abuelita” (Mexican-style hot chocolate) for $7.50. (Pan de Muerto, btw is a sweet bread baked with anise seeds, orange zest, and fresh orange juice. Its sides are shaped to look like the bones of loved ones lost. Creepy-cool.) They’ll also have a shrine where you can pay tribute to Pedro Infante.

Superhero-themed bash at Baru Urbano Midtown

If you wussed out on Halloween and haven’t gotten the chance to dress up — you’re in luck. Baru Urbano’s newest locale is hosting their opening bash on Friday and Saturday nights. There’ll be beer from Wynwood Brewing Company, meaty eats, and other festivities. So now’s the perfect time to break out that Quail-Man getup.

Rib Fest at Zoo Miami

At this annual ode to pork, you can eat animals — and look at ’em, too. Six of the nation’s top ribbers will go head-to-head to earn the coveted title of “Best Barbecue,” and all on the grounds of our impressive city zoo. Listen to country tunes, dig into juicy ribs, and gawk at lions, tigers and bears. Oh my. The event runs from November 1 to November 3. Find out more here.

Free wine tastings with author Lisa Mattson

Lisa’s a clever lass, and her new book, The Exes in My iPod: A Playlist of the Men Who Rocked Me to Wine Country, recounts the dating dilemmas of a Miami waitress. Relatable material, for real. And in keeping with the notion of drowning-your-sorrows, she’s hosting two free wine tastings this weekend — one tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. atVinos in the Grove, the other tomorrow from 7 to 8 p.m. at Books & Books Coral Gables.
