In the illustrious words of über-babe Heidi Klum — when it comes to style, you’re either in or you’re out. Since you still don’t understand what’s so cool about the skinny jean phenomenon, you probably need to see what’s considered “in” this season at the 11th annual Miami Fashion Week. From March 16 to 22, models will teeter down runways at the SOHO Studios (2136 NW First Ave., Miami) in the Wynwood Arts District. New this year: An International Culinary Arts Pavilion featuring celebrity chefs and menus based on the home countries of each night’s designers and an industry-only International Buyer’s Salon.

Other events of note are the Eco Sustainable Collection from local DASH students, the jewelry and accessories marketplace, the Miami Moda and Music Awards, and a smorgasbord of rooftop parties and fashion shows that present the best emerging designers from select countries. This year’s Fashion Week spotlights Latin America although frocks and swimwear from Dubai to Italy also make their debut. The dress code is “Miami chic” or in other words, wear what you’ve been wearing cause damn, it looks good.
