It sure sounds like Peyton Manning is going to end up in Miami eventually one way or another. The only question is whether it will be in a Dolphins jersey or a pair of board shorts lounging at his condo at the Continuum in the South of Fifth area of Miami Beach.

Armando Salguero reports that the Dolphins will definitely be making a play for Peyton. He’s been cleared to play next season, but it seems more and more like he won’t be playing for the Indianapolis Colts.

Salguero also reports that Peyton has something of an established affinity for South Florida. He’s already got the condo, and his wife absolutely loves the area. She certainly seems to have something of a Miami housewife vibe.

“His wife is also a big fan of the area,” says a Miami Herald source. “He likes the area. He likes the vibe of the area more than you might think. They own a condo down here. And no other team that could be trying to sign him will be able to say that.”

At 35, Manning’s preemo years may be behind him. That’s not to say he still couldn’t be a big upgrade for a team desperately in need of a quarterback, and, with the right help, couldn’t find himself hoisting up the Lombardi trophy again in his career.
