We have to hand it to Florida criminals. They’re finding new, innovative ways to get arrested for causing public disturbances with disgusting body fluids. Yesterday it was fecal mater. Today it’s back-pimple ooze.
Owen Lemire Kato, 23, was arrested at a Cape Coral McDonald’s this past Monday after a very public display of popping pimples on his back. We’re not exactly sure what Kato was thinking, but we’re pretty sure it wasn’t a piece of performance art commenting on the grease content of the dollar menu.
Kato stood for at least ten minutes near the north entrance of the restaurant popping the pimples, according to WTSP. Customers and staff tried to get him to move, but he wouldn’t. An off-duty police officer was at the restaurant, and when he asked for Kato’s name, the young man told him it was John Smith. Very creative.
Kato eventually gave his real name and date of birth but then decided to flee. Another nearby officer noticed Kato running, and chased him on foot. The officer eventually tackled him.

Police found a syringe in his pocket, which Kato’s girlfriend said he used to inject Oxycontin. Oh, now things make sense.
Kato was charged with driving without a license, giving false ID to an officer, resisting arrest without violence, and possession of drug equipment. No charges were directly related to the pimple-popping incident.
