The new IWAN Concept Production Facility “The Bubble” is hosting an after-party for Red Eye, the annual Fort Lauderdale event by ArtServe that highlights work by local artists, musicians, fashion designers, and performance artists. The Bubble after-party starts at 8 p.m. and will include performances by local bands Dooms De Pop, The Microdots, and Pretty Please and artwork by 19 local artists such as Skot Olson, Francisco LoCastro, Lisa Parrott, and Erick Arenas.
If you haven’t been to The Bubble, it’s a 3000-square-foot space (that’s just the inside) owned by promoter duo Garo Gallo and Yvonne Colon. It includes two stages, concert-hall-quality acoustics, and tons of wall space usually covered with work by South Florida’s finest. This also may be one of your last chances to see the Microdots. A band that is as likely to traverse loose and gritty indie rock as it is to incorporate psychedelic guitar arcs, the Microdots are relocating to Denver. The Bubble is located at 810 N.E. Fourth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Admission is $10.
