Floridians worried about meningitis might have ended up calling a phone sex hotline thanks to Rick Scott.
During a Florida cabinet meeting, the governor was giving an update on the fungal meningitis outbreak and told any concerned citizens to call an 866 number. Turns out he gave the wrong one.
WUSF reports that when you call the number, you’re greeted with this message:
“Hello, boys. Thank you for calling me on my anniversary,” is how the recording opens. A young female voice then directs “existing callers” to press 1, and so on.

Turns out Scott flubbed the last two digits of the intended number (which is 866-523-7339, in case you’re wondering).
The wrong number was apparently in his notes, but 30 minutes into the meeting, someone notified him about the wrong number and he corrected himself.
