What’s better than a store full of cupcakes, pies and tarts? A truckful!
The Sweetness Bake Shop & Cafe, now located at 9549 Sunset Drive. will send out a dessert truck, Sugar Rush, this November.
“The reason we came up with the idea was pretty simple,” says one of the owners Stephanie Diaz-Perez. “Cupcake trucks are popping up all over the country, dessert trucks in specific, are popping up all over California and New York, and we wanted to be the first dessert truck in South Florida; so we combined both concepts and came up with Sugar Rush.”
The dessert truck will be traveling all over South Florida in places like West Kendall, Doral, Hialeah, Miami Lakes, and Pembroke Pines. The truck will also take part in street festivals, private parties and catering events.

“A food truck has always been a part of our business plan; first we opened our store Sweetness Bakeshop, and the next logical step for us was the food truck, which will work as a mobile store for us. It’ll carry mostly everything our current store offers, cupcakes, desserts, ice cream/gelato, and sandwiches…as well as a few items that will be exclusive to the truck.”
