Quick, name the best Miami mascot. Sebastian the Ibis? Billy the Marlin? Bernie, the Miami Heat’s fuzzy acid-rain victim? All wrong answers. It’s I.C. Snowden, the ever-melting snowman who will lead the festivities at the 35th annual Winternational Thanksgiving Day Parade.

In the tradition of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Winternational shuts down NE 125th Street in North Miami between 6th and 12th avenues for a family-friendly show full of creative floats and marching bands, each competing for a $550 prize and the title “Best Band.” You’ll compete only for a good view of the action. (Hint: Get close to the main stage at 125th Street and Eighth Avenue, where city dignitaries will be sitting.) I.C. begins melting at 10 a.m., and he closes up the parade and heads for the freezer around noon.
