It’s funny how easy it is to forget about hip-hop group like Arrested Development. Since their heyday was in the early 90s, during the dog days of gangsta rap, most of their hits were lauded at the time of their release, but barely remembered in comparison to all of the East Coast/West Coast material that came out around the same time. Arrested Development, unlike most of their contemporaries, had no “coast” and the Southern afro-centric vibes they kicked out were probably ahead of their time.

Even if their contributions to hip-hop aren’t as easily remembered, one thing is for sure: they knew how to make good music. Here’s an old school video from back in the day. Don’t be afraid to sing along. —Jonathan Cunningham
