I’m not a psychoanalyst, but I play one on TV. Okay, I’m not a TV actor either, but like many people, I love to psychoanalyze the borderline crazies who cross my path daily — just like you’re probably trying to analyze the first couple of sentences in this paragraph. Some lucky people have turned this obsessive passion into a career and they’re gathering tonight at Mercy Hospital for a little light-hearted group session. Members of the Florida Psychoanalytic Institute, Society, and Foundation will be observing, describing, and rendering opinion about the Oscar-winning picture Thelma and Louise and how it reflects on society. I’m certainly not going to include any plot spoilers or reveal patient histories here, but Dr. Jorge Casariego will be leading the post-movie discussion group. Wine and cheese will be served at 7:00 p.m., and the film screens at 7:30.
Fri., Dec. 8, 7 p.m.
